Step Up Revolution (2012)

Hello! First of all, would like to thanks Nuffnang for the movie ticket and also thanks to other people who wish me luck in previous post about How I Step Up With Nuffnang! This movie is about a group of dancer is showing off their dance move with flash mob style, at the same time they are trying to win a contest on youtube. Sean and Eddy is the founder of a group called "The Mob", they got their very own DJ, Choreographer, Videographer, Stunt Dancer, Street Artist and more.

Kathryn McComick as Emily, her character is a rich man daughter and she don't have much freedom because her dad thinks that dance will not become a good career for long term. Her dad don't really force her to join him for his business, and she made her promise to him that if she fail her audition, she need to work with her dad. Her leg is kind of fat, maybe dancer need a very strong and firm leg as a base.

Ryan Guzman as Sean, the leader of "The Mob". As a leader, he think about idea where and when to do the flash mob and share it with the crew. He is too calm in this movie, not much expression to show he is "raging" or he is "happy", all I see from his face is one kind of expression or a little smiling face in there.

Misha Gabriel Hamilton as Eddy, the co-founder of "The Mob", his specialist is dance, online hacking/intrude. [Spoiler] He screw up the crew once, because he did something without using his brain, at the end he apologize to Sean.

Moose (Adam G. Sevani) from Step Up 3D (2010) also appear in this Step Up Revolution (2012) too. I didn't watch previous Step Up movies, so I think I would catch up soon once I got free time.

To be frankly, this movie is bored. When I watch til halfway, I start yawning. Because they only show Good Flash Mob, Badass Flash Mob, Artistic Flash Mob and Group Flash Mob. I would say that StreetDance 2 (2012) plot/storyline is much more better than this movie, father and daughter argument with dreams and a guy fall in love with girl story is very common. Character introduction was too fast-forward, got no idea about Sean and Eddy family background in the beginning of the movie.

My Rating would be 3.5/10, dance move with great effort is not very impressive, perhaps next dance movie should talk about how Jabbawockeez born, this is what I interested. I dare say some professional dancer that I know, they would say that this movie is not as great as previous Step Up movies.

Thanks for reading, by Kian Fai.

P.S.: The first flash mob street art is dam impressive.
